Managing Cosmetology

The Management portion of your Cosmetology training offers career planning classes to help you decide on the career path that’s right for you. You will learn important techniques that can positively affect your success including how to write a resume, conduct yourself during an interview, and achieve a professional image.

By completing this program, you will meet the requirements necessary to obtain a Managing Cosmetology License. With this license, not only can you work in a salon…you can own and manage a salon of your own!

Cosmetology

Managing Esthetician

When you choose Managing Esthetician training, you will learn advanced skin care using the latest equipment. Your Managing Esthetician training program includes:

Completion of this program enables you to meet the requirements for a Managing Esthetician License. You can work in a salon, day spa, or a physician’s office. You are also able to own and manage your own salon.

Managing Nail Technician

When choosing Managing Nail Technician training, you will learn manicuring, pedicuring, and acrylic nails, using the most advanced techniques and instruction available. Completion of this program enables you to meet the requirements for a Managing Nail Technician License. This license enables you to work in or operate your own salon.

Combined Managing Esthetic/Managing Nail Technician

Choose the Combined Managing Esthetic/Managing Nail Tech. training program to receive hands-on training and advanced techniques from expert instructors in both fields.  With this license you can also work in a salon or day spa, or own and operate a salon of your own!

Objectives

The objectives of these courses are to train students in all phases of their program of study including: sanitation, anatomy, massage, chemistry, how to seek and obtain employment, applicable laws and regulations, State and Federal Taxes, and salon management. After completion of these courses and passing the State Board exam, the student will be qualified to manage a salon, supervise employees, or open up their own salon.

Course Format and Grading Procedures

The Ohio State Board of Cosmetology requires the completion of course required hours to qualify graduates to apply for the Ohio State Licensing Examination. Students begin with classroom theory and practical (hands on) sessions. Laboratory/Clinic and practical assignments are graded using a daily worksheet. Written testing is both multiple choice and essay.  As of March 7,2008 This course is not offered at the Eastern Hills Location.
