Our School

The Skin Care Center is owned by Azita Shafazand, a European trained Aesthetician, with worldwide experience throughout England, Germany, France, Canada and many more countries who offers a unique training program. Mrs. Shafazand holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science and has been a part of the teaching faculty of several colleges. Azita Shafazand has over sixteen years of experience in aesthetics, spa treatments, electrolysis and permanent makeup. This school is certified to operate by the state council of higher education from Virginia

Electrolysis

The objective of the Electrolysis course is to offer a comprehensive study in electrolysis, thermolysis, blend epilation, sterilization and sanitation as well as marketing strategies. The vocational competencies to be attained by the graduate are to assist clients with the permanent removal of superfluous hair. Upon completion of this course you will be confident in the permanent hair removal process. You will be able to work in an established salon or start your own business.

Updated materials, articles and magazines from different Electrology associations will also be studied. Students will review videotaped presentations of Electrolysis, Thermalysis, Blend and Galvanic methods. In addition, there will be classroom discussion and demonstrations on each other regarding these methods. There will be a quiz following each section of study, a mid-term and a final exam. A final average of 75% is required to complete the course.

PRACTICAL:

The student will have hands-on experience working with other students as well as paying clients. You will learn through practical experience the appropriate methods of insertion, conditions for pre and post treatment, sanitation, and pain management for your client.

600 hours of training are required by the state board of Maryland, of that 200 hours are for theory and 400 for practical. DC and Virinia require 300 hours.

Esthetics

The Maryland, District of Columbia and Virginia Board of Cosmetologists required 600 hours to qualifying as an Esthetician.
