Success Barber School

Merrillville, Indiana

Our School

Success Schools LLC. is a unique place where men and women of all ages enjoy learning the art of barbering utilizing two basic methods, theory or classroom training and practical or hands on training. Together the two types of training offer the novice an opportunity to learn and understand the Art of Barbering. Our philosophy is that if provided with a calm, comfortable place to learn with a scheduled delivery of curriculum materials and plenty of people on which to practice, people can learn to be barbers.

The Indiana Barber Program

The program is state licensed and requires the equivelant of 9 or 10 months of full time attendance and 18 months of part time. The school is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00am to 9:00pm and Friday and Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. We offer day and evening classes. Full time is 40 hours per week and part time is 20 hours per week.

The typical day at the barber school begins with a theory class using a text, workbook and examination review book. The remainder of the day is a clinic time whereby we cut, color, and perm hair, we shave with a straight razor, do facials and scalp conditioning treatments, and manicures. We have an excellent client base which benefits our students in that they get practice in giving services. We also have demonstrations throughout the day to better acquaint our students with the proper procedure on services.

Students begin the interview process 60 days before graduation and state testing. Barbers are in demand across the state of Indiana, we offer free placement service and free continuing education after licensing. Success Schools works closely with barbers in the field to teach the skills owners seek in new barbers.

Classes begin the first Tuesday of each month.
