Today's market demands a more creative and skilled cosmetologist. It has expanded and evolved into a sophisticated and well-respected profession with a variety of specializations. American Beauty Academy has two campuses in Maryland. One is located in Baltimore and the other is in Wheaton. We offer the following programs:

Entrance & Enrollment

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

A personal interview and visit to the School are required of all prospective students. In addition the student must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States or hold a recognized visa.
  • Be beyond the compulsory school age, minimum age of 16 (17 years of age to take the State Board Examination.)
  • Have an understanding of the English language, which will be assessed during the entrance interview.
  • Successfully passed an entrance examination if applicant has not completed High School. An independent tester will administer the Wonderlic test.

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS

An applicant may enroll in American Beauty Academy programs after the successful completion of the following criteria:

  • Meet all admission requirements
  • Sign a contract/enrollment agreement with the school
  • Obtain a class start date

All requirements must be met prior to beginning class.
